NOV 01, 2004 (newstodate): The launch of the planned new Bosnia-Herzegovina airline, Spirit of Balkan may again be clouded by serious uncertainty.
According to a local industry source, one of the main investors behind the project has pulled out, preferring instead to support the competing Aero Flight project planned to offer flights from Frankfurt to Sarajevo and Banjaluka.
The investor is also reportedly in talks with Delta Air Lines and Air India to buy 20
seats on their flights from New York, Atlanta and Cincinnati to Frankfurt for transferring passengers to Sarajevo and Banjaluka, the source says.
The Spirit of Balkan planned to fly from Banjaluka to Karlsruhe, Niederrhein, Sarajevo and Istanbul, offering a total of 34 weekly flights operated with a single Boeing 737-300 aircraft.
