FEB 27, 2004 (newstodate): Danish provider of transport and logistics services, DFDS Transport has landed a contract with the Hungarian Ministry of Defence.
Under the contract, DFDS Transport undertakes to provide airlift capacity for the Hungarian reconnaissance company earmarked for the readiness staff of the NATO Response Forces.
The contract, signed by Mogens Ellerbaek, DFDS Transport exec dep chairman, and Col. L�szl� Fekete, Deputy Director-in-Chief of the MoD Procurement and Security Investment Bureau in Budapest on 15th January 2004, covers the required transportation capability with respect to the area of deployment determined by the NATO Command, complying with the specified, very stringent readiness requirements, for the period between 16th January and 30th June 2004.
The contract comprises two parts, one catering to the short-term availablility, the other taking the form of a framework contract concerning the transportation task, to be finalised after the time and place is determined by NATO.
