FEB 23 (newstodate): Tblisi International Cargo Handling is seeking investors for financing of a planned new air cargo terminal at Tblisi Airport.
The company, set up in 2002 with Tbilisi International Airport, Georgian Railway, and Skyport Project Management Ltd (UK) as its main shareholders, will construct a multi-modal cargo terminal at Tbilisi International Airport to serve freight forwarding companies and expeditors, warranting a reduction in leadtimes by 8-10 days due to its integration of road, air, and rail transportation.
The projected terminal includes 100,000 sq. feet of cargo handling space with a truck loading bay on one side, a railway platform on the opposite side and an airside platform. Cargo aircraft will be parked on adjacent aprons specifically designed to hold freighters only.
An express facility is planned within the terminal.
