FEB 24, 2004 (newstodate): The much-heralded new Air AMS security measures for air cargo shipments into the USA, due to be enforced from March 5, have been delayed till "a later date".
According to industry sources, US Customs may consider August 6 to a new tentative date for enforcing the Air AMS that requires full shipment data to be conveyed electronically to US Customs for security clearance not later than four hours before aircraft touch-down on US territory.
No official statement or date has yet been announced, though.
