MAR 29, 2004 (newstodate): New UAE airline, Etihad Airways plans to add up to 50 new aircraft before 2009.
The airline has just launched its first European route into London and plans to operate to 16 destinations by the end of this year.
In addition to London, Etihad flies to Amman, Beirut, Colombo and Damascus, and a new route to Bangkok will be added by next month.
Other destinations in the pipeline are Mumbai, New Delhi Cairo, Khartoum, Riyadh, Kuwait, Bahrain, Manila, Jakarta and Dhaka.
Etihad currently operates two Airbus A300-200 aircraft and one Airbus A340-300 aircraft.
