MAR 11, 2004 (newstodate): With effect from March, UK-based Skyroute Logistics has named Kales Airline Services new GSA for the Nordic markets.
Through its new GSA with offices in all the major Nordic freight gateways including Billund, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Malmo, Stockholm and Olso, Skyroutes aims at enhancing the penetration of the Nordic markets through its trucking network to its hub in Luxembourg which provides extensive freighter services to Russia and CIS destinations.
Last year, Skyroutes was among the founding members of just2CIS - a group also comprising Atran Cargo Airlines in Moscow, EasternAirCargo in Frankfurt, and Miras Air Group in Almaty.
Using their own resources and established partners throughout Europe, Scandinavia, North America and Canada, the just2CIS alliance markets a package of transport and logistics services, combining carriage by air using scheduled freighters, passenger operations and dedicated air charters with pick-up and delivery, trucking, ground handling, customs services and packaging.
From Luxembourg, just2CIS utilises one Boeing 747 freighter service a week to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and an additional weekly Boeing 747 freighter service to Almaty, Kazakhstan. From these CIS gateways, regional AN-12 and AN-26 freighter aircraft operated by Miras Air and Atran Cargo Airlines, provide connections to other CIS capital cities, including Tashkent and Dushanbe.
Moscow is served six times weekly with AN-12 freighter aircraft from Leipzig.
Additional just2CIS hubs in Moscow, Atyrau and Baku provide weekly scheduled connections to the Russian Far East, the Kazakhstan oilfields at Uralsk, Aktubinsk, Atyrau and Aktau, plus the capital cities of Georgia in Tbilisi and Armenia, Yerevan.
Ukraine is served by just2CIS scheduled freighter services from Luxembourg, with onward connections to the Baltic States by road feeder services.
just2CIS also offers airline handling, freight forwarding and brokerage services provided by Miras Air in Aktau, Almaty, Astana, Atyrau, Bishkek & Uralsk.
