MAR 02, 2004 (newstodate): Danish air broker, ATC has negotiated an ACMI contract with the Spanish airline Air Plus for an Airbus A310-300 to be operated on the new route from Copenhagen to St Croix.
The route will start from April 2, flying Scandinavian tourists from new Danish tour operator Dansk Vestindien to the Virgin Islands.
Services will, however, be suspended during the windy seasons, August 20 till October 8.
-The aircraft type has been selected as it is the smallest aircraft to offer nonstop capabilities for the flight that would not sustain the passenger loads of larger aircraft types, says Knud Puggaard, ATC managing director and owner.
According to Puggaard the cargo potential of the flight has still not been assessed, but the operator would be keen to add cargo to the route, marketed and sold through a cargo GSA under a separate contract.
