MAR 05, 2004 (newstodate) Bosnian plans for a restructuring and re-launch of Air Bosna that went out of business in September 2003 have met with strong objections from the World Bank.
Elements for the restructuring plans for Air Bosna include a loan of 5.5 million euro plus montly subsidies and an additional royalty tax per passenger.
-The plan would have negative implications on future budget allocations, already stretched by public expenditures, and unable to fund critical services adequately, says the World Bank.
While acknowledging the rights of the authorities to follow their own plans, the World Bank says it would rather see a small regional carrier as a new venture by private entrepreneurs when warranted by the market.
