APR 26, 2004 (newstodate): China Airlines has announced its intentions to acquire two Boeing 747-400 freighters, to enter the fleet by 2006.
By 2007, the airline will then have a total of 21 freighters compared to 14 freighter now in service with the airline.
The new Boeing 747-400F will replace two freighers currently operating with the airline on a lease arrangement.
According to IATA's forecast, Taiwan will see air cargo volumes increasing by seven percent per year during 2003-2007. The airline's cargo traffic was up 20.9 percent in 2003, measured in RTK.
