APR 14, 2004 (newstodate): From April 1, 2004, a National Aviation Security Plan has been enforced in the Netherlands.
As part of the new plan, all AWBs must have a general security declaration attached to verify that shipments are safe and processed by a known cargo handling agent.
The following statement must be noted on the pre-advice: "I herewith declare that (the name of the trucking company) is in a known relation to the carrier (name of carrier)".
Even so shipments will still not be considered safe for flight and admitted into the airport by Menzies at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
-As the security plan is still quite new there is some confusion and undertainty as to its implementation. We will therefore continue to perform security checks on all shipments trucked to the airport before declaring them ready for carriage regardless of the security declaration, says a source within Menzies.
