APR 28, 2004 (newstodate): New Gulf airline Etihad is mulling plans to add a number of US destinations before the end of 2005, starting with a route to New York.
In all, the airline plans to increase its network to comprise 16 destinations by the end of this year already.
Etihad recently opened its first route to Europe, calling at London, and other destinations to come include Mumbai, New Delhi, Cairo, Khartoum, Riyadh, Kuwait, Bahrain, Manila, Jakarta, and Dhaka.
To facilitate this fast increase in operations, Etihad is considering adding more Airbus A330 as well as Airbus A340-500 and -600 aircraft while also considering the new Boeing 7E7 aircraft.
The airline currently operates two leased Airbus A330-200 and one leased A340-300 aircraft.
