APR 13, 2004 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo reports a strong growth through March, with total volumes up 6.9 percent to 7,492 tonnes.
As during the preceding months, the growth in air cargo is driven by the routes to and from the Far East, notably China.
On the Asian routes, the increase was 37.5 percent, while growth in the North Atlantic traffic was only 4.8 percent.
Cargo volumes on freighter services were down 22.1 percent after capacity cuts compared to last year.
Finnair Cargo's over-all load factor was 67.0 percent, while it topped 91.4 percent on the Far Eastern routes.
