APR 02, 2004 (newstodate): Volga-Dnepr and other Russian airlines share a wonderful opportunity for expansion in the global air cargo market, Alexey Isaikin, Volga-Dnepr Group president said in a special meeting of Russia's State Civil Aviation Authority last month.
Isaikin said the precondition for success is the launch of a project of trans-Russian scheduled airlines including the set-up of three hubs at Moscow, Krasnoyarsk or Novosibirsk, and in Khabarovsk.
Initially the system is expected to operate from the Far East, primarily China, to Europe, and later to Europe via the USA.
-It is crucial that this project comprises not only establishment of new airlines, but also the development of a full aviation and air cargo infrastructure including fuel companies, maintenance, airports, and aircraft production, he said.
