MAY 12, 2004 (newstodate): Aeroflot is happy to have obtained the traffic rights for a scheduled freighter service between Helsinki and Moscow.
-We have been operating our freighter service on a charter basis for quite some time, but of course our product will gain in confidence among the freight forwarders once the service becomes a scheduled operation, says Alexander Piven, Aeroflot Finland general manager.
-Our first objective was to obtain this traffic right. The next step will be to seek further cooperation with Finnair Cargo, enabling us to share capacity on the freighter. I am quite confident that this will be achieved also, he says.
The new scheduled service is operated with an Aeroflot DC-10F that continues from Moscow to Bejing, meaning that the Finnish export shipments will not have to be off-loaded in Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport.
