MAY 05, 2004 (newstodate): Hungarian project freight forwarder and transportation company AES has opened an own warehouse and offices at Baghdad Airport.
Together with AES' trucking distribution warehouse already in place, the new facility only 50 meters from the cargo load ramp allows AES to provide one of the most extensive and secure warehousing networks in the region.
With the airport warehouse, airline customers on late arriving aircraft can unload their cargo immediately for safe storing at the facility, thus avoiding leaving the cargo on parked aircraft, or stored on trucks.
As one of the earliest cargo service providers, AES has been established in Iraq since last year and handled the first commercial aircraft into Baghdad in May 2003.
