MAY 05, 2004 (newstodate): Russian investors are planning to set up a rotary and fixed-wing aircraft assembly plant in Nigeria, press reports say.
The new factory will be a joint-venture with the Nigerian government, and a business plan will be submitted within only few weeks for approval by the Nigerian government.
No details on which aircraft will be assembled have yet been announced, but it will expectedly be helicopters and smaller regional and cargo aircraft adapted to demanding coditions in African countries with little infrastructure.
