MAY 10, 2004 (newstodate): A group of Swedish businessmen, including a former SAS pilot, are said to be behind a new project aiming at opening a freighter route between China and Europe.
According to industry sources, the project is being sponsored by Swedish and Chinese business companies within Chinese exports and imports and aims at setting up a Boeing 747-200 freighter route between a destination in China, and Luleaa Kallax Airport in Sweden.
Plans are also said to include a freighter service to Japan.
If realised, the proposed freighter service will also target the Norwegian salmon exports to Japan.
