JUN 03, 2004 (newstodate): The Airbus A380-800F freighter programme is on track, heading for the first flight in 2007, and entry into service by 2008.
-We are currently in the final fuselage design freeze phase, and the aircraft will provide a 50 percent increase in volume and 29 percent increase in payload, compared to the Boeing 747-400F, says Richard Carcaillet, Airbus director product marketing A380.
So far the A380 freighter has fetched a total of 17 orders, including two for Emirates, five for IFLC, and 10 for FedEx.
