JUN 10, 2004 (newstodate): Danish provider of airside installations, Intertec A/S is currently engaged at Sofia Airport on a major upgrading project.
The project that started one year ago is expected to be completed in the first half of 2006, and is financed by Kuwait Funding.
-Our comprehensive solutions to be implemented at Sofia Airport include ILS, airfield lighting, apron lighting, signage and other products, says Jorgen Lund, Intertec sales manager airport division.
-At Sofia Airport one existing runway will be decommissioned and replaced by a new one, requiring us to remove existing runway lighting and install a new system at the new runway.
Based on the experience with Sofia Airport, Intertec is now also focussing on new business potentials arising from the Bulgarian government's decision to start privatisation of the country's airport, notably Varna and Burgas.
