JUN 09, 2004 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo reports an overall increase during May in cargo tonnages by 24.9 percent to a total of 7,635 tonnes.
The growth in cargo traffic on scheduled routes was 18.1, but the real boost was again provided by the airline's Far Eastern traffic, that was up by 44.3 percent to 3,017 tonnes.
The European cargo traffic increased by a more meagre 6.6 percent to 2,228 tonnes, while the North Atlantic segment was down by 12.7 percent to 520 tonnes.
As for load factors, the overall percentage was 64.2 percent, while the Asian traffic generated a load factor at 82.7 percent, while the North Atlantic traffic produced a load factor at 71.1 percent.
Finnair Cargo's freighter service in cooperation with other carriers including Emirates on the N American traffic accumulated a total of 1,478 tonnes.
