JUN 07, 21004 (newstodate): Indian budget airline Air Deccan is building an Airbus fleet for its expanding operations.
The airline has finalised a contract with Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise on the lease for five years of five Airbus A320 aircraft.
The first three aircraft, manufactured in 1998, are now being reconfigured to Air Deccan's 180 seat single class layout, and will be used on trunk routes linking India's IT capital with major Indian cities.
The three used aircraft are scheduled to join the airline in July this year, and the remaining two aircraft will be delivered off Airbus' assembly line in the first quarter of 2005.
In addition Air Deccan has also placed orders with Airbus for two more aircraft for delivery in the third quarter of 2005.
