JUL 30, 2004 (newstodate): British Airways World Cargo declares itself ready to meet the demands of the US Air AMS that will be taking effect from August 13.
BAWC will be fully compliant in nineteen gateways in the US and in other major hubs around its network.
-We have made a significant investment in our systems and resources to ensure that we comply with the requirements laid down by US authorities. We believe that these charges are fair and reflect the need to maintain a safe and secure environment. As the demand for electronic data grows, we are hopeful that this will lead to further, much-needed modernisation of the aircargo industry, says Ketih Packer, BAWC Senior VP Commercial.
BAWC's Air AMS compatibility is provided by Descartes-owned Tradevision with whom BAWC signed a three-year preferred provider agreement in June, covering electronic messaging services and solutions.
