JUL 28, 2004 (newstodate): First among the airlines and maintenance organizations in the new EU member countries, Czech airline CSA has obtained EU certificate no. 001 to carry out aircraft and component maintenance, meeting all requirements set out by the new Part-145 regulation.
It is the first certificate of its kind awarded in the Czech Republic. Many companies have been working hard to comply with the regulation and obtain the certificate by the deadline, the end of November 2004, even in the "old" EU countries.
The CAA inspectors carried out an audit, followed by the issuing of the certificate in mid-June according to the new EU regulation.
The regulation became effective in autumn 2003, shortly after the establishedment of the European Aviation Safety Agency, authorized to create new aviation standards.
In addition to the maintenance of its own fleet, CSA also provides maintenance services to international companies including Air Berlin, Lufthansa Technik, Transavia, and Hapag Lloyd. Express
