JUL 26, 2004 (newstodate): In June, Finnair Cargo generated a total of 7,333 tonnes of cargo, up 44.3 percent.
For the period January-June, the growth was 18.2 percent, to 42,115 tonnes.
The airline's Asian traffic remained the key driver behind the strong growth, with more than double volumes in June, totalling 3,019 tonnes in June, and a growth by 50.7 percent during the first half year, to 17,049 tonnes.
Finnair's scheduled freighter traffic performs less spectacularly, with volumes up 8.8 percent in June, to 983 tonnes, and a growth by 5.9 percent during H1, to 5,703 tonnes.
The over-all cargo load factor rose by 4.3 percentage points to 55.1 in June, and by 1.6 percentage points to 58.1 during H1.
