AUG 10, 2004 (newstodate): After a prolonged period of negotiations and evaluation, Russian carrier UTair has announced the outcome of its tender for new regional aircraft.
Long in the balance against competing Bombardier, ATR came out the winner as UTair will now buy five ATR42-300 aircraft, to be delivered late 2004/early 2005.
The new aircraft will gradually replace the existing fleet of ageing AN-24 aircraft.
