AUG 11, 2004 (newstodate): August 2 saw the offical start of a new Danish company, Copenhagen Air Logistics A/S headed by Standley Bundgaard as managing director.
The new company is part of a group comprising rhus Shipping Logistics A/S, Denmark, Swedish companies Gothenburg Air Logistics AB, Gothenburg Shipping Logistics AB, Stockholm Air Logistics AB, and Vaxsj Shipping Logistics AB, and Norwegian company Oslo Shipping Logistics AS. In total the group employs 60 staff.
-Copenhagen Air Logistics will provide airfreight forwarding, customs services, aircraft chartering, and courier services, but freight forwarding will initially constitute the basis, says Standley Bundgaard.
-We have extensive, but no exclusive relations to numerous agents and will be able to tailor-make a service dedicated to individual customer needs, he says.
-It is, admittedly, a tough time to start up new business but we are convinced that there is a market for an independent provider to cater to niche customers and business partners with very specific needs. Volume, therefore, is not immediately our sole priority, says Standley Bundgaard.
Also in the pipeline is a company in Finland to join the group and round off a fully-fledged Nordic platform that can attract international players that need a one-stop entry into the regional market.
