AUG 27, 2004 (newstodate): According to the latest IATA CASS statistics for the Scandinavian markets, Denmark's top destination in January-July was Tokyo, while Chicago topped the list in Sweden, and Osaka was Norway's preferred IATA export cargo destination.
In Denmark, Tokyo generated 2,386 tonnes of airfreight, 7.1 of the total volume. Second came Chicago with 2,172 tonnes (6.4 percent), followed by New York with 1,877 tonnes (5.6 percent), Hong Kong with 1,284 tonnes (3.8 percent), and Singapore with 1,257 tonnes (3.7 percent).
In Sweden, Chicago generated 3,744 tonnes (6.3 percent). Second came New York with 3,726 tonnes (6.3 percent), followed by Atlanta with 3,304 tonnes (5.6 percent), Tokyo with 2,208 tonnes (3.7 percent), and Delhi with 2.142 tonnes (3.6 percent).
In Norway, Osaka generated 5.114 tonnes (14.2 percent). Second came Hong Kong with 4,082 tonnes (11.4 percent), Tokyo with 3,548 tonnes (9.9 percent), Singapore with 1,692 tonnes (4.7 percent), and Shanghai with 1,348 tonnes (3.8 percent).
