SEP 06, 2004 (newstodate): Air Polonia now confirms its decision to open up a new route between Warsaw and Stockholm Skavsta from the coming winter program.
-We will operate a daily flight into Stockholm Skavsta, and the flight has already been included in our new schedule, says Marek Slawatyniec, Air Polonia press spokesman.
Mr Slawatyniec also says this is only a first step into Scandinavia.
-We are considering our next moves into the Scandinavian markets, and among the airport to be assessed are Malmoe Sturup, Sweden, and Billund Airport, Denmark. Copenhagen Airport is most likely ruled out due to its expensive airport charges, he says.
Mr Slawatyniec also says that air cargo will not be included in the carrier's business plans as short turn-around times will not allow time to be spent on cargo handling, and the airline does not consider night-stops at stations outside Poland due to prohibitive costs.
