SEP 14, 2004 (newstodate): Billund Airport has today announced its decision to contract Germanischer Lloyd to provide certification of its perishable cargo handling according to the new industrial standard the CCQI Industry Standard.
This makes Billund Airport the world's first airport to certify its handling of perishables and temperature-sensitive shipmrnts after the new standards.
-Over the years, Billund Airport has built a high reputation for its handling quality regarding this highly demanding traffic, and we are keen to maintain and even enhance our position in this market that is set to become the singly most prospective and fast-growing segment in the logistics and air cargo industry. The Cool Chain Associations CCQI certification will help us to materialise this strategic decision, says Jan Ditlevsen, Cargo Centre Billund manager.
