SEP 21, 2004 (newstodate): Russian airline Vim-Avia has signed a contract with Lufthansa Systems to implement its dispatch and flight planning services.
Since 2003, Vim-Avia already uses Lufthansa Systems' Lido OC flight planning system.
Both systems will enable the airline to reduce operational cost and optimise its aircraft utilisation.
Vim-Avia, taking its initials from the general manager, Viktor Ivanovich Merkulov, operates a number of IL-IL-62 aircraft but has also added some of the 12 ex-Thomas Cook Boeing 757-200 aircraft sold to Russian investment company Tsentr Kapitala earlier this year.
