SEP 20, 2004 (newstodate): New Spanish budget airline under formation, Air Andalucia is mulling plans for a route network to connect Granada, Spain, with London Manston and Odense Airport, Denmark on a twice-daily base.
According to industry sources, the airline is also considering the launch, in 2006, of a route network out of Granada to connect to a range of destinations in Africa.
So far the only public manifestation of the airline is a website with a yet inoperative booking facility.
-We are in contact with Air Andalucia, but no launch date has yet been set, and a host of issues still remain to be settled, says Erry Knudsen, Odense Airport director.
According to mr Knudsen, further negotiations will take place this autumn, and he expects a possible launch date by spring, 2005.
According to the airline's website, the company plans for a fleet of "up to 18" Airbus A320 aircraft within the next two years.
