JAN 17, 2005 (newstodate): Dnata Airport Operations have invested in new equipment to link its control centre to the newly installed Ground Movement Radar, GMR, system at Dubai International Airport, enhancing its co-irdination of ground handling and ramp support services.
Thus Dnata is now the only ground handling agent in the region, and one of few in the world, to have a GMR display, as well as an advanced Movement Control Centre, MOCON, equipped with the latest tracking and support systems.
The GMR tracks an aircraft from two minutes before touch-down until it taxies to its allotted stand. Complementing the existing systems within MOCON, the GMR will help the Dnata team to further improve operational efficiency and make better decisions under critical stand planning scenarios, thereby also booing ramp safety.
Dnata provides ramp, engineering, cargo and passenger services for the over 100 airlines operating at Dubai International Airport
