JAN 14, 2005 (newstodate): JAT Airways is in for deep changes including staff cuts in the near future.
On Thursday, the day of the JAT pilots' strike, the Serbian minister of Capital Investments announced staff changes in JAT, the axing of about 1,000 jobs, and reorganisation of the airline's technical services.
The minister will meet with JAT's pilots on Monday, January 17, to discuss the situation, and to further highlight the intense political importance of the issues, the country's prime minister will personally take part in a meeting on the company's business operation and organisational changes.
