JAN 13, 2005 (newstodate): Russia is stepping up its relief efforts to the Tsunami-affected zones.
During the night of January 13-14, Russia plans to dispatch two Emergency Situations Ministry-aircraft to Thailand with a mobile hospital and a specialized anti-epidemic team of the Ministry of Health and Social Development.
ESM aviation will also send another two special flights to Sri Lanka in the night of January 15-16. It is expected that a field hospital will be delivered to Colombo, together with another specialized anti-epidemic team of the Health Ministry.
During the period December 27, 2004, and January 10, 2005, freighters of the ESM and the Defense Ministry of Russia have delivered almost 150 tons of humanitarian aid to the affected countries of Southeast Asia.
