JAN 19, 2005 (newstodate): The launch of the planned new Bosnia-Herzegovina airline, Spirit of Balkan has now officially been postponed - again.
-Due to the present political situation in Bosnien we have postponed the planned start of Spirit of Balkan from Christmas to the beginning of the summer season, says a spokesman for the airline.
The Spirit of Balkan plans to operate from Banjaluka to Karlsruhe, Niederrhein, Sarajevo and Istanbul, offering a total of 34 weekly flights with a single Boeing 737-300 aircraft.
As reported by newstodate on November 1, 2004, one of the main investors behind the project had pulled out, preferring instead to support the competing Aero Flight project planned to offer flights from Frankfurt to Sarajevo and Banjaluka.
