JAN 27, 2005 (newstodate): On March 27, 2005, Swissport International will commence its own cargo operations at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport.
Swissport Cargo Services is also expanding its capacity in Belgium and Luxembourg in an effort to bolster its position in the Benelux region.
Swissport International's cargo division is currently active at 82 airports in 23 countries, and increased its annual operating revenues by 15 per cent in 2004.
Swissport will offer the full range of cargo services including warehousing, import & export, physical handling, document control, palletisation and ULD management with its new Amsterdam operation.
The services will initially be provided for five airline customers, but Swissport expects to have doubled the volume of these activities by the end of the year
