OCT 06, 2005 (newstodate): Slovenian carrier Adria Airways expects this year's cargo growth to be around 15 percent, compared to last year.
While impressive, it is still a far cry from last year's 92 percent increase.
-The reason for the more restrained growth this year is the introduction of the CRJ aircraft on most of our South European routes. This lead to a drop in cargo capacity, says Adrijana Selj, Adria Airways Corporate Communications.
-While cargo traffic has picked up again, we plan to expand freighter operations to our destinations in southeastern Europe in connection with our destinations in Europe. This will further boost our cargo figures, she says.
