OCT 03, 2005 (newstodate): In 2004 the Russian carrier Russkoe Nebo lifted a total volume of 33,700 tonnes of air cargo, and has been on Russia's Top-3 list of cargo carriers for five years.
Originally named East Line Airlines, the carrier was sold to Tesis in 2004, and acquired its new name from October, 2004.
Russkoe Nebo operates a fleet of 22 aircraft, including seven IL-76, nine IL-62M, two IL-86 passenger aircraft, and two TU-154M, also for passenger traffic.
The carrier now operates 23 international routes and is designated carrier to China, Korea, Greece and UAE, including oversize and heavyweight cargo, perishables and live transport of live animals.
In September talks were concluded with the privately-owned VIM-Avia that has now taken over Russkoe Nebo as part of VIM-Avia's effort to diversify its business.
