FEB 09, 2005 (newstodate): Kazakhstan airline Air Astana is in the market for acquisition of a Boeing 757.
The airline is currently leasing 11 aircraft including three Boeing 737-700/800, three Boeing 757-200, and five Fokker-50 aircraft.
Air Astana's management now plans to acquire own aircraft, and the national government is discussing the financing of a civil aviation development program to support the airline's ambitions.
