FEB 03, 2005 (newstodate): Boeing is reportedly exterting a mild pressure on LOT for an early decision to join the ranks of launch customers for the Boeing 787.
The airline is currently evaluating the Airbus A330 and the Boeing 787 to replace the current longhaul fleet of Boeing 767 aircraft.
On a recent PR-tour to press for the Boeing alternative, Randy Baseler, Boeing VP marketing, highlighted the benefits from being in the first batch of customers to order the 787 that has so far fetched 186 orders from 14 operators after a slow start in late 2004.
