FEB 16, 2005 (newstodate): The East Line Group is ready to negotiate a new airport lease agreement between the Russian state administration of the Domodedovo Airport and ZAO Domodedovo International Airport.
In the meantime there will be no disruption of operations or investments at Domodedovo, East Line says.
On February 14 the Moscow District Federal Arbitration Court supported an earlier arbitration court's decision that ruled the current lease terms unlawful and much below concrete business conditions.
-Taking into account the nature of the negotiations and their status, there is absolute confidence that the new obligations with respect to the agreement will be agreed upon by the parties on mutually beneficial terms in the near future, says the East Line Group in a statement.
-The proposal to revise the lease agreement has been prepared by East Line and submitted to the Federal Air Transportation Agency, says East Line.
In addition to managing the Domodedovo's complex operation, landing and take-off servicing, the East Line Group also provides passenger handling, the passenger terminal complex, DEM Aircraft Maintenance and Repair Center, ZAO Domodedovo Cargo Terminal, aircraft fueling, in-flight catering services, and DME's aviation security services.
Moscow Domodedovo airport is competing succesfully against the Aeroflot-dominated Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport and has managed to attract several Western airlines from Sheremetyevo to Domodedovo during the last few years.
