FEB 11, 2005 (newstodate): Romanian carrier Carpatair sees a future role for air cargo.
-Carpatair mainly concentrates on passenger traffic, and for the time being we see cargo as a supplementary service. Because of this, we do not communicate cargo figures, says Monica Boar, Carpatair Marketing Coordinator.
-Still, the goal is to develop a separate department in charge of cargo operations, so we could make better use of current and future cargo space, she says.
The future for air cargo at Carpatair may depend on the airline's deliberations on fleet expansion, including the introduction of jet passenger aircraft to replace the current SAAB 340 and 2000 fleet.
