FEB 16, 2005 (newstodate): DFDS Transport (Norway), part of the Danish DSV Group, has announced its take-over of the Norwegian transport and logistics company Maksi.
Maksi, headquartered near Sola Airport, was set up in 1980 to serve Braathens SAFE with distribution services. Airfreight forwarding was added in 1989, and after an acquisition in 1994 Maksi was set up along its current lines.
In 2004 Maksi generated a turnover at NOK50 million and employed 20 people.
After the acquisition taking effect from February 1, DFDS Transport (Norway) will have a turnover around NOK200 million and rank among the country's largest air and sea freight forwarders targetting especially customers in the oil and gas industries.
