FEB 16, 2005 (newstodate): The AirRep Group is in the midst of a phased management buy-out by AirRep UK Managing Director Andy Lewis.
Andy Lewis is taking most of the shares held by AirRep's founder and Chairman Colin Martin, who is retiring from the Group.
Andy Lewis will thus purchase all shares in the group's largest company, AirRep UK, which manages and operates the group's fleet of TU204 and IL76 freighter aircraft, and also has a GSSA division representing three airlines.
Lewis will also take over Martin's shareholding in AirRep Scandinavia, founded in 1994, partnering Managing Director and existing shareholder Viktor Shumskij, based at Copenhagen.
With branches in Copenhagen and Oslo, the company is one of Scandinavia's leading charter brokers.
Since 1995 AirRep Scandinavia has operated the region's largest single cargo charter contract, moving 120 tonnes of Norwegian salmon weekly to Tokyo.
The company also operates a cargo GSSA divison representing Aeroflot and three other airlines, and a travel arm specialising in Russia and eastern Europe.
