FEB 01, 2005 (newstodate): When feasible, SAS may use its preemptive rights to increase its shareholding in Latvian carrier airBaltic.
The Latvian state currently owns 52 percent of airBaltic, and SAS the remaining 47.2 percent.
SAS' interest in raising its stake in the airline reflects last year's strong development of the airline and the expectation that this will be further consolidated in 2005, also poised for growth.
So far the Latvian government has not, however, made any official offer, SAS says.
