MAR 08, 2005 (newstodate): Austrian Airlines will further expand along its strategy for traffic to East and Central Europe during the coming summer program.
Varna will become Austrian's second destination in Bulgaria, with five flights in cooperation with route partner Bulgaria Air. Four flights will be operated by Austrian Airlines, while Bulgaria Air will operate the fifth service.
Following a code share agreement with Tarom, Sibiu will become the fourth city in Romania to be connected with Vienna five times a week.
With these new additions, the number of destinations served by the Austrian Airlines Group under the Focus East offensive to Central and Eastern Europe will rise to 41.
Compared to the 2004 Summer Schedule, the programmes of services to Baku (5 flights a week), Kosice (12 flights a week) Krakow (up to 3 flights a day) Minsk (increased to two flights daily), Yerevan (6 departures a week) and Zagreb (up to 3 services a day) will all be increased.
The Austrian Airlines Group will also be operating more flights to the cities of Cluj, Pristina, Rostov, St. Petersburg, Timisoara and Tirana than in the summer of 2004.
