MAR 29, 2005 (newstodate): Hungarian airport Budapest Ferihegy is soon to reach its current capacity ceiling.
The airport that generated 6.5 million passengers in 2004, up 30 percent, is expected to reach a total of more than 11 million passengers by 2010, primarily driven by a fast increase in budget carrier traffic.
New airport terminals will ease the pressure, but more initiatives and investments are needed as new operators take over management of the airport after the closure of the ongoing tender for privatisation of Hungary's only international airport.
