MAR 02, 2005 (newstodate): The new Berlin International Airport is keen to focus on a future role as a Chinese "gateway to Europe", but the visions narrow down to passenger traffic only.
The airport, building on estimates that Chinese visitors to Europe may increase to some 60 million in only a few years, is considering building a terminal dedicated to the China traffic, and may even seek Chinese investors for this purpose.
But the visions do not include air cargo.
-We have no such plans at the moment, says Ralf Kunkel, Berlin Airports Press Centre in response to newstodate's inquiry.
