MAR 16, 2005 (newstodate): Dutch logistics company Frans Maas saw a sustained build-up of its activities in Eastern Europe during 2004.
The company opened new locations in Belgrade, Serbia, and Zagreb, Croatia, and in Romania through the acquisition of Giacomelli Spedizioni in Italy.
Still Fans Maas' net result for 2004 was marred by the settlement of a large-scale fraud case in Spain that eventually cost the company 7.2 million euro.
Operations in France and Spain also proved disappointing, incurring an operating loss of 11 million euro.
