MAR 10, 2005 (newstodate): Plans for cargo flights across the Taiwan Strait have been put on hold by the Taiwanese government.
In November, 2004, President Chen Shui-bian woved to push for direct cargo chartered flight across the Strait, and progress was reportedly being made.
But faced with the Chinese Mainland "anti-separation law", expected to be rubber-stamped by the National Peoples' Congress next week, Taiwan is temporarily calling off further negotiations according to a senior Taiwan government official.
